Myrmarache is a genus of ant-mimicking jumping spiders that was firt described by W.S.Mcleay in 1839. They are commonly called antmimicking spiders, but they are not the only spiders that have this attribute. they are very similar to the regular red ants, so you have to look closely to identify them from ants.

Why Mimic jumping spiders are look like Ants?
Ants are aggressive at defending themselves, They are well-armed with bites and stings and formic acid. Ant-mimicking jumping spiders, in contrast, can not do much more than run when attacked. Not surprisingly, insect predators tend to prefer spider over ants, so appearing to be an ant confers significant protection.
Where do ant mimic spiders live?
Member of the longipalpa species of Ant-mimic spiders live in soil, under leaves and insides tree barks, where they construct small silken homes.they are offten to found near anthills and behave like ants to confuse predators. their habitats are woods, meadows and gardens. Mimic jumping spiders are sometime can found inside buildings.
Are Mimic jumping spiders harmful to humans?
Jumping spiders including Ant-mimicking spiders are not dangerous or harmful to humans. In most cases, they will not bite unless they feel they are in a mortal danger, even if they do bite, they most likely won't puncture your skin.
